2. New drill bit diameter is larger than the original;
3. Machine displacement or drill bit deviation in the hole during drilling;
4. Rocks falling from the hole wall or opening, or encountering large fissures or caves during drilling;

6. Operational negligence, such as failure to blow away rock dust or lift the drill bit during prolonged drilling stoppages, resulting in the impactor being buried by rock dust.
With current drill bit strength, fin breakage is largely eliminated. In special circumstances, a seamless tube with a diameter similar to the hole diameter, filled with grease, asphalt, etc., can be connected to the drill rod and inserted into the bottom of the hole to remove the broken fins. Before retrieval, the rock dust at the bottom of the hole must be blown away. In severe cases, the drill bit cannot be lifted or lowered, and the impactor does not make a sound. In this situation, only external torque or auxiliary tools can be used to help lift and rotate the drill bit. Then, air should be supplied while lifting the drill bit until the problem is resolved. When resuming rock drilling, apply pressure slightly first, then gradually increase the thrust until the normal working pressure is reached.
The impactor not making a sound is commonly caused by the following four reasons: 1. The cutting blade is broken; 2. The drill bit tail is damaged, and debris enters the cylinder and jams the hammer; 3. The vent hole is blocked by rock powder; 4. When drilling downwards, too much water accumulates in the hole, resulting in too much venting resistance and making it difficult for the impactor to start. If the impactor is not making a sound, first check for the fourth reason. The method is to lift the impactor a certain distance to reduce venting resistance and blow out some water, then slowly push it to the bottom of the hole. If this method does not work, then the first three reasons can be identified, and the impactor needs to be removed for cleaning or parts replaced.
