During piling, if quality problems are discovered, the construction unit must not handle them independently. It must report to the supervisor and owner, and then work with the design, surveying, and other relevant departments to analyze and study the issues and develop a correct solution. The design department should issue a design modification notice. Common methods include: settlement compensation, pile supplementation, combined pile feeding and supplementation, correction, enlarged pile cap, and composite foundation methods. These are briefly described below:
1. Settlement Compensation#drill for soil#
This method can be used when the precast pile is not deep enough in the soil, or when the driven pile is lifted up by soil bulging.
2. Re-pile Method
One of the following two methods can be used:
2.1 Re-pile before the pile cap. When the pile spacing is small, a method of drilling holes first, then planting piles, and then driving the piles can be adopted.
2.2 Re-pile static pressure piles after the pile cap or basement is completed. The advantage of this method is that the pile cap or basement structure can be used to bear the construction reaction force of the static pressure piles. 3. Combined Re-pile and Driven Method
When driven piles are connected in sections and driven one by one, poorly connected piles may cause the connection joints to separate. In this case, a combined re-pile and driven method can be used. First, the piles with doubts are re-driven to make them sink and tighten the loose joints to give them a certain vertical bearing capacity. Second, some complete piles are appropriately added. On the one hand, this makes up for the lack of vertical bearing capacity of the entire foundation, and on the other hand, the re-driven complete piles can withstand seismic loads.
4. Correction Method
If the pile is tilted but not broken, and the pile length is relatively short, or if the tilting is caused by the excavation of the foundation pit but not broken, the method of partial excavation followed by jacking for correction and repositioning can be used.#drill for soil#
