1. Improvements can be made to reduce the contact area by allowing for variations in the length and height of the tooth tips.

3. Overcoming Slippage Analysis: As mentioned earlier, the main cause of slippage is lubrication by water or mud. Therefore, overcoming the softened mudstone and the surface water or mud will overcome mudstone slippage! After overcoming this, continuous pressure drilling should be maintained to minimize the power head's idle rotation within the hole. This prevents water or mud from entering the cutting surface, ensuring the drill bit remains in contact with dry geological conditions for normal drilling.

4. Operational Control is Crucial: Due to the hardness and good cementation of mudstone, cutting into it with water lubrication is not easy. First, raise the power head to a higher position. Then, control the power head's rotation slowly, applying pressure gradually and continuously. The speed of the power head and the pressure application must be well-coordinated. If the pressure stroke is completed without penetrating the mudstone, raise the power head again and continue drilling until the geological load increases. Afterward, continue drilling. When the load becomes too heavy, raise the power head to reduce the load and protect the drilling rig components. Slippage Classification During drilling, due to the softening of mudstone, two types of slippage may occur: one is bottom slippage, also known as slippage when drilling into the mud layer; the other is mudstone slippage. Because mudstone is inherently harder and difficult to cut, slippage occurs with the lubrication of water or mud slurry. These two types of slippage are distinct, so it is crucial to distinguish between them for effective handling.

6. Handling Slippage Distinguishing between the two types is critical, as the handling methods differ. If it is bottom slippage due to softened mudstone, reverse the direction of drilling and apply pressure to overcome it. If it is slippage due to the harder mudstone reducing the coefficient of friction with water, the aforementioned integrated methods can be used to overcome it.
