A four-wheel rotary drilling rig is essentially a wheeled rotary drilling rig with two additional tires on each of the front and rear wheels, resulting in a total of eight tires (as shown in the image).
What are the differences between a four-wheel rotary drilling rig and a traditional two-wheel rotary drilling rig?
The obvious advantages of four wheels are: stronger load-bearing capacity, more effective operation in the field, and better climbing performance than traditional rotary drilling rigs.
The downside is that the increased friction during operation leads to higher speed and fuel consumption compared to traditional rotary drilling rigs.
