Rotary Drilling Rig Safety Maintenance Instructions:#rig components#
(1) Warning Signs
① Always hang a "Do Not Operate" warning sign on the control lever of the working device in the rotary drilling rig's cab to warn others that someone is performing maintenance or servicing on the machine. If necessary, attach additional warning signs around the rotary drilling rig.
When not in use, store the warning signs properly in the toolbox.
② If someone starts the engine, touches or operates the control lever of the working device while the rotary drilling rig is being maintained or serviced, serious damage or injury may occur.
(2) Keep the Work Area Clean and Tidy
① Do not leave hammers or other tools in the work area. Wipe away any grease, oil, or other substances that could cause slippage. Keep the work area clean and tidy to ensure safe operation.
Failure to keep the work area clean and tidy poses a risk of tripping, slipping, or falling and causing injury.
② Wipe the skylight made of plexiglass (polycarbonate) with water. Do not use any alkaline solvents. If benzene, toluene, formaldehyde or other alkaline solvents are used, a chemical reaction will occur, such as the glass dissolving or decomposing, and the polycarbonate will age.

(3) When working with others, designate a supervisor.
When repairing a rotary drilling rig or disassembling/installing the working device, designate a supervisor and follow their instructions during operation. Lack of understanding between colleagues can lead to serious accidents.
(4) Turn off the engine before performing maintenance.
① Park the machine on a firm, level surface.
② Choose a location free from the risk of falling rocks, landslides, or flooding.
③ Lower the working device completely to the ground and turn off the engine.
④ Turn the start switch to the ON position. Operate the working control lever 2-3 times in the full stroke (forward, backward, left, right) to release any remaining pressure in the hydraulic circuits, then move the safety lock control lever to the locked position.
⑤ Place padding blocks under the tracks to prevent the machine from moving.
(5) Perform maintenance with two people while the engine is running.
To prevent injury, do not perform maintenance while the engine is running. If maintenance must be performed while the engine is running, it must be done with at least two people and according to the following guidelines:
① At all times, one person must be seated in the operator's seat and ready to shut off the engine. All personnel must maintain communication with each other.
② Move the safety lock lever to the locked position.
③ Exercise extreme caution when operating near the fan, fan belt, or other rotating parts, as there is a risk of entanglement.
④ Do not touch any levers. If it is necessary to operate a lever, signal to others to move to a safe location.
⑤ Do not drop or insert tools or other objects into the fan or fan belt, as this may cause parts to break or fly off.#rig components#

(6) Suitable Tools
Only suitable tools should be used, and tools must be used correctly. Using damaged, inferior, defective, temporary, or unsuitable tools can cause serious personal injury.
(7) Accumulator
The accumulator is filled with high-pressure nitrogen. Careless operation of the accumulator can cause an explosion, resulting in serious injury or damage. Therefore, the following precautions must be observed:
① Do not disassemble the accumulator.
② Do not place the accumulator near a source of ignition or expose it to flames.
③ Do not drill holes, weld, or use a welding torch on the accumulator.
④ Do not bump or roll the accumulator, or subject it to any impact.
⑤ When handling the accumulator, the gas must be released.
(8) Personnel
Only authorized personnel may maintain or repair the machine. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter this area; if necessary, an observer may be assigned.
(9) Accessories
① Before beginning the disassembly or installation of accessories, a supervisor must be designated.
② Place any attachments removed from the machine in a stable location to prevent them from tipping over. Take measures to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the storage area.
(10) Working Under the Rotary Drilling Rig
① When performing maintenance under the rotary drilling rig's working device, securely support the device and rig with strong blocks and brackets sufficient to support the weight of the machine.
② Working under the machine is extremely dangerous if the track shoes are off the ground and the rig is supported only by the working device. Accidentally touching a control lever or hydraulic line could cause the working device or machine to suddenly fall, which is very dangerous. Do not work under the machine unless it is properly supported with blocks or brackets.

(11) Noise
Excessive machine noise can cause temporary or permanent hearing problems. When performing engine maintenance and being exposed to noise for extended periods, wear earmuffs or earplugs.
(12) When Using a Hammer
When using a hammer, pins may fly out, and metal particles may scatter, causing serious injury. Follow these steps:
① If striking hard metal parts such as pins, drill bits, cutting edges, or bearings with a hammer, there is a risk of scattering debris and injury. Always wear safety goggles and gloves.
② When striking pins or drill bits, there is a risk of flying debris that could injure people in the surrounding area. Ensure no one is in the vicinity.
③ If a pin is struck with force, there is a risk of the pin flying out, which could injure people in the surrounding area.
(13) Welding Operations
Welding operations must be performed by qualified welders using appropriate equipment. Welding poses a risk of fire or contact. Therefore, welding is not permitted for unqualified personnel.
(14) Disconnecting Battery Terminals
When repairing the electrical system or performing welding, disconnect the negative (one) terminal of the battery to prevent current flow.
(15) Adjusting Track Tension of Rotary Drilling Rig with High-Pressure Grease
① The grease is forced into the track tension adjustment system under high pressure. If the prescribed maintenance procedures are not followed during adjustment, the grease drain plug may fly out, causing serious injury or damage.
② When loosening the grease drain plug to reduce track tension, do not loosen it more than one turn; loosen it slowly.
③ Do not allow your face, hands, feet, or other parts of your body to come near the grease drain plug.
(16) Do Not Disassemble the Buffer Spring
The buffer spring assembly is used to reduce the impact force on the tensioner wheel. It includes a high-pressure spring; therefore, if it is incorrectly disassembled, the spring may fly out, causing serious injury or even death. Therefore, do not disassemble the spring.

(17) Safety Rules Regarding High-Pressure Oil
The hydraulic system is always pressurized. When inspecting or replacing lines, always check that the pressure in the hydraulic lines has been released. If the lines are still pressurized, it can cause serious injury or damage. Therefore, follow these guidelines:
① Do not perform inspections or replacements while the hydraulic system is pressurized.
② If there are any leaks in the lines or hoses, the surrounding area will be wet. Therefore, check the lines or hoses for cracks and for any bulging. When inspecting, wear safety goggles and gloves.
③ High-pressure oil leaking from a small hole can penetrate the skin. Direct contact with the eyes can cause blindness. If you are injured by high-pressure oil flowing into your skin or eyes, rinse with clean water and contact a doctor immediately.
(18) Safe Handling of High-Pressure Hoses
If a high-pressure hose overflows with oil or fuel, it can cause a fire or operational malfunction, resulting in serious injury or damage. If a bolt is found to be loose, stop work and tighten the bolt to the specified torque. If any damage is found to the hose, stop operation immediately and contact the rotary drilling rig manufacturer.
Replace the hose if any of the following problems are found:
① Damaged or leaking hydraulic pipe joints.
② Worn or broken cladding, or exposed reinforcing wires.
③ Swelling in some areas of the cladding.
④ Twisted or crushed movable parts.
⑤ Impurities inside the cladding.
(19) Waste
To prevent pollution, pay special attention to waste disposal methods.
① Dispose of oil discharged from the machine in a container. Do not discharge oil directly onto the ground, or pour it into sewers, rivers, oceans, or lakes.
② When handling hazardous materials such as engine oil, fuel oil, coolant, solvents, filters, and batteries, comply with relevant laws and regulations.
(20) Air Conditioner Maintenance
If air conditioner refrigerant gets into the eyes, it may cause blindness. If refrigerant comes into contact with the skin, it may cause frostbite. Do not come into contact with refrigerant.
(21) Compressed Air
① When using compressed air for cleaning, there is a risk of injury or damage from ejected particles.
② When using compressed air to clean filters or radiators, wear goggles, a dust mask, gloves, and other protective equipment.

(22) Regular Replacement of Safety-Critical Components
① For long-term safe operation of the rotary drilling rig, regular lubrication and maintenance are necessary. To further improve safety, safety-related components such as hoses and seat belts must be replaced regularly.
② After the specified time, the materials of components will naturally change. Repeated use will cause deterioration, wear, and damage. As a result, these components may malfunction and cause serious injury or damage. It is difficult to determine how long these components can still be used based on external inspection or touch during operation; therefore, they must be replaced regularly.
③ If any defects are found in safety-critical components, they must be replaced or repaired even if the specified time has not yet been reached.
During use, the rotary drilling rig must be maintained strictly in accordance with the "Rotary Drilling Rig Safety Maintenance Instructions." Only proper maintenance can extend the service life of the drilling rig and reduce machine malfunctions.#rig components#
