According to their working principle, they can be divided into the following four types:

2. Air hammer pile driver: Powered by compressed air and steam, the compressed air raises the hammer head during operation, and then the air pressure is used to lower the hammer head to impact and drive the pile. The air hammer pile driver moves up and down at a very fast speed and frequency. When the pile enters the ground, it vibrates, thus reducing the friction between the pile and the ground.

3. Diesel hammer pile drivers: These utilize the impact force generated by the explosion of atomized diesel fuel under high temperature or pressure to lift the hammer head, which then falls back down to perform the work in the pile.

4. Hydraulic pile drivers: These also use diesel engines and hydraulic power to adjust the pressure according to different soil layers to achieve the appropriate impact force before driving piles. They are a new type of pile driver with an energy transfer efficiency of 70% to 90%, far exceeding the efficiency of the three types of pile drivers mentioned above. This saves a lot of energy and has become a popular choice for many construction teams.
