Today, I'll share some information about the use and precautions for the hoist of a rotary drilling rig. The hoist is extremely important; an accident could have disastrous consequences, so please read this article carefully.different types of drill rigs
The hoist bears the lifting load of the main winding coil and eliminates the output torque of the power head, protecting the main winding wire rope. Therefore, its role is significant, but also quite dangerous; an accident could have unimaginable consequences. Okay, let's get into today's topic.
Before learning how to use the hoist, we first need to understand its structure. The hoist consists of an upper connector, a lower connector, an intermediate body, a pin shaft, and angular contact ball bearings. After 12-16 hours of operation, the grease filler plug should be unscrewed, and lithium-based grease should be injected into the hoist until fresh grease overflows between the lower connector and the intermediate body.
When installing the bearings, the bottom bearing should face down with its back facing up, while the other bearings should face up with their backs facing down.
Having discussed the structure and use of the hoist, let's now address some important precautions.
To ensure smooth rotation, the hoist of a rotary drilling rig should be regularly inspected and maintained. If the hoist jams and stops rotating, the wire rope could break, causing a serious accident with potentially disastrous consequences. Therefore, regular inspection and maintenance of the hoist are essential.different types of drill rigs
